Challenges
The USAID International Fund, in partnership with the Ukrainian partner DAI, has launched an innovative initiative to promote business development in the areas of the Kyiv region that have been liberated from occupation.
To achieve this, it was necessary to determine which of the development support methods offered by the fund are the most effective.The goal was to conduct both qualitative and quantitative research of the region with a clear segmentation of industries and types of businesses.

Solutions
1 Development of a work planInitially, we focused on selecting the research methodology. Since the fund is interested in quantitative characteristics and qualitative analysis of community needs, we divided the research into several stages.
Initially, we utilized advanced data processing technologies from open sources to gather information on the quantity and segmentation of businesses.
Subsequently, we proceeded to conduct a comprehensive survey among a carefully chosen group that had been identified during the earlier phase of our research.
For clarity and convenience, we decided to use our own aimap engine, as well as Power BI and PDF formats to visualize the results.
2 Assessment of quantitative characteristics.At this stage, business analysts from AIM company formulated a sampling algorithm using information from state statistics for distribution by territorial communities.
Utilizing advanced data parsing technologies, we conducted a detailed quantitative analysis of the regions. Additionally, on behalf of our client, we reached out to the heads of local territorial communities to request information about their communities.
3 Assessment of qualitative characteristicsAt this stage, a crucial component is the creation of a relevant questionnaire to obtain objective findings.
The next challenge was distributing the questionnaire and collecting a sufficient number of responses for further analysis. Furthermore, we conducted in-depth interviews with participants to obtain the highest quality responses.
4 Report compilationAfter compiling the data and survey results, we faced the important task of creating a comprehensive report that would encompass all aspects of the findings and data.
For the visual representation of territorial communities (OTG), we used an interactive graphical map in AIMAP. To draw conclusions from quantitative research and surveys, we prepared a detailed report that included textual descriptions, graphics, and some visualization in Power BI

Results
The client received a detailed marketing analysis with both qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the researched territories.
This tool is used to provide assistance to Ukrainian businesses that have been affected by the war.
